Illustrative engine-ignition OEM parts review scene
OEM/ODM PROJECT REVIEW

Engine & Ignition OEM/ODM

Build an engine and ignition sourcing brief around the exact engine application, electrical connections and part references. Review spark plugs, ignition coils and fuel-pump requirements before selecting samples or approving private-label packaging.

What to send for review

Use available product details to describe the part you need. We review each request against the specific product and supplier information available.

Part reference

Send the OE number, part number or drawing you need reviewed.

Application

Include the vehicle make, model, year and installation position when known.

Product details

Provide photos, dimensions or other specifications you have confirmed.

Order requirements

State the required quantity, destination market and any branding or packaging request.

Product scope and application matching

This family includes spark plugs, ignition coils, fuel pumps and selected engine components. A vehicle model may use different engines or fuel-system versions, so include the engine code, model year, fuel type and original reference. Photos help identify the part, but the matching decision should also use dimensions and technical data.

  • Spark plugs: confirm thread diameter and pitch, reach, gasket or taper seat, hex size, specified heat range and spark gap. Similar-looking plugs are not automatically interchangeable.
  • Ignition coils: check connector pin count and keying, mounting arrangement, boot length and the specified engine application.
  • Fuel pumps: identify the complete module or individual pump, supply voltage, fuel compatibility, connector and outlet arrangement; specify flow and pressure at the required operating conditions.

Private label or a technical development project?

For an existing component, the review can focus on brand marking, label information, protective packaging and quantities per reference. Changes to plug electrodes, coil circuitry, connector geometry or pump performance require a separate technical feasibility review. Send drawings with revision numbers and identify the characteristics that must remain unchanged.

Samples and product-specific inspection

Agree the sample reference and acceptance criteria before order confirmation. Dimensional checks and electrical connection checks should be separated from performance testing. Ask which test methods, conditions and inspection records are available for the selected component; a multimeter reading alone does not establish ignition performance.

  • Confirm installation dimensions, mounting points and connector fit against the approved reference.
  • For spark plugs, review ceramic condition, thread finish, electrode configuration and the application-specific gap.
  • For coils or pumps, agree the relevant functional checks and operating conditions rather than using one test plan for every part.

Packaging and order information

Protect ceramic insulators, coil boots, electrical terminals and fuel-pump ports during transport. Specify individual box artwork, part-reference labels, quantity per carton and batch identification. Send the required quantity for each reference, destination market, sample needs and requested delivery date so packaging and supply options can be reviewed together.
