OEM/ODM PROJECT REVIEW

Filtration OEM/ODM

Develop oil, fuel, air and cabin filter sourcing projects around fitment, filtration requirements and packaging. Review the correct media, seals and application details before approving a sample and private-label artwork.

What to send for review

Use available product details to describe the part you need. We review each request against the specific product and supplier information available.

Part reference

Send the OE number, part number or drawing you need reviewed.

Application

Include the vehicle make, model, year and installation position when known.

Product details

Provide photos, dimensions or other specifications you have confirmed.

Order requirements

State the required quantity, destination market and any branding or packaging request.

Choose the filter type and application first

Oil, fuel, engine-air and cabin filters work in different systems. Start with the OE reference, vehicle or engine application and filter type. Include dimensions and clear photographs of seals, threads and connection interfaces. Matching outer size alone does not establish equivalent filtration performance.

  • Oil filters: confirm spin-on or cartridge construction, dimensions, thread and gasket where applicable, and application-specific valve requirements.
  • Fuel filters: specify fuel compatibility, connection sizes and arrangement, sealing details and any relevant water-separation or sensor interfaces.
  • Engine-air and cabin filters: confirm frame shape, sealing edge, length, width and height; identify the requested media type, including activated carbon where applicable.

Media and performance requirements

Specify the operating conditions and the performance evidence required for the project. Filter efficiency, contaminant capacity and flow restriction should be considered together. For an oil filter with a bypass valve, the valve configuration and opening pressure must match the application. Media color or pleat count on its own is not a performance specification.

Sample review and quality documentation

Agree the sample reference, drawing revision and acceptance checklist before packaging approval. Review fitment dimensions, seal condition, media assembly and housing finish. Request the relevant product-specific filtration or pressure-test information and identify the method and test conditions; do not transfer a test result from a different filter reference.

  • Inspect media bonding, end caps and sealing surfaces for the selected construction.
  • For spin-on filters, review thread finish, gasket seating and the specified valve arrangement.
  • For panel filters, check frame dimensions and sealing contact against the intended housing.

Private-label packaging and batch identification

Confirm the brand artwork, filter reference, application labeling and quantity per carton. Protect filter media from crushing and contamination, prevent metal canisters rubbing together and keep sealing surfaces clean. Individual blue retail boxes, bulk cartons or mixed-reference orders can be discussed against quantities and packing requirements. Final artwork and the selected sample should be approved before the order specification is released.
